OUR EYES IN A FRAGMENTED WORLD

My practice centers on working with fiber as both structure and language. Through the process of

papermaking, materials carry traces of plant, touch, and time, becoming vessels of memory and

transformation.

Mulberry fiber connects the work to traditions of Japanese papermaking and to my own cultural lineage. Flax, one of the oldest fibers used by humans, evokes a more ancient relationship to the land and to shared human histories.
